Services for You
 Interior Refinement™ -
  •  Transforms your home or office one room at a time by using your existing furniture and accessories.
  • Preliminary consultation is performed to establish the client's room preferences related to style, color and function.
  • A survey is necessary to identify room size and characteristics as well as furnishings and accessories available (within the room and elsewhere in the home as well as any planned purchases).
  • Additional accessories, special accent pieces and wall/ceiling painting may become elements of the Design Plan.
  • An overall redecorating Design Plan is presented along with any specified themes/functions.
  • Based on the fundamentals of Green Redecorator Certification, recommendations can be provided for achieving and maintaining a healthier home environment and for conserving natural resources.
  • On average, a typical room in the home (family room, living room, dining room, bedroom) may require 2-4 hours of redecorating services.
  • Room transformation cost is based on the room size.  After completion of preliminary consultation, a fixed price for the specific services will be provided.
  • The written room-specified Design Plan is left with the client to facilitate any follow-up client-provided activities (re-painting, additional accessories, etc.)

 Color Refinement™ -

It goes without saying that any new colors for a room should complement, rather than conflict with, the colors of existing pieces in the room.  Yet, selection of the appropriate colors for a room can be a challenging and uncertain decision for many people.  There is never a single "right" color, but there are almost always several "wrong" colors.  We inform your color decision through proven principles of color design and established techniques for color coordination.  The result -- an ideal palette for your room that accommodates and/or accents the overall redecoration plan.

To aid the client's final color(s) selection upon completion of the consultation, the client is provided with a set of large swatches of each candidate paint color along with a summary of any decorating considerations that may favor one color in lieu of another.

The exterior colors of houses make a statement as well.  We can apply the same design and decorating principles of colors primacy and coordination to give your existing house a new look in the neighborhood.

"Move-in Ready" or Downsizing

• Moving to a new residential or office space creates its own set of decorating challenges.  What furnishings and accessories should go where?  Will those pieces look right in the new room?  Won't the wall-mounted pictures and art "clash" with the new room's color?  How can I position furniture for television viewing and still have a conversation area?  What kind of window treatments should be used on that odd-sized window?  How and where can I provide for more storage?

There simply are no "one-size-fits-all" decorating answers for moving to a new home.  Consequently, each new home or new office situation must be addressed on a case-by-case basis.  Key factors to consider include the (1) quantity, size, shape and color of the current furniture and accessories, (2) dimensions and color characteristics of each new room, and (3) perhaps, most importantly, the specific purpose(s) that each new room is expected to serve.

Each Design Plan for a "move-in-ready" consultation is custom prepared to address the specific facts and circumstances of the new home or office space in question.  We seek to optimize the utility of existing furnishings, provide a new, fresh living or working environment and avoid the clutter and chaos that often accompanies a move.  Form and function on a per-room basis must be guiding criteria in any "move-in-ready" strategy.

• Downsizing is just one particular type of "move-in-ready" event.  All of the criteria and considerations associated with moving to a new home or office also come into play here except there is one additional and highly personal factor to be evaluated.  Stated succinctly, what do I keep?

By definition, downsizing means the elimination of certain furnishings and accessories due to a lack of new space.  Accordingly, our downsizing plans seek to maximize the use of existing pieces in new areas in a manner that preserves their utility as well as their value (both monetary as well as sentimental).  An inventory of existing furnishings and accessories is critical in this situation because difficult decisions invariably arise.  Do I keep these pieces because I will use them more often, or do I retain those other pieces because of their greater value?

Downsizing has its physical and emotional demands.  We address the physical needs through a comprehensive Design Plan for the new spaces.  We help you navigate the emotional stress of downsizing by preparing an itemized inventory of existing pieces and identifying their prospective placement and utility in the smaller spaces in order to facilitate organized and deliberate decisions about what to retain.

 Art & Accessory Refinement™ -

Sometimes a complete makeover of a room is neither necessary nor appropriate to achieve a new look.  Something as simple as reconfiguring the placement and quantity of items in bookcases and on table tops can create an entirely different appearance to the room.  New locations for existing artwork and pictures and new grouped arrangements of those existing pieces can often create the illusion of an entirely different room.  Because each client's furnishings and rooms are different, sometimes the most effective means of transforming existing art and accessories is by "trial-and-error."  That is, rather than attempt to design a single transformation plan for art and accessories, experience has shown that a sequence of successive repositioning and relocation of those items is the most effective means of achieving the desired transformation, i.e., a result that just looks and feels right.

Personal Shopping

On its face, the idea of someone doing your shopping for home furnishings, accessories and other décor seems not only frivolous but also costly.  But a successful redecorating plan integrates all of the elements within a room -- from furniture, accessories and specialty items to floor coverings, window treatments and colors of the walls and trim.  Once familiar with your existing room contents and armed with a custom-prepared Design Plan, we can advise you when purchasing specific component pieces so that any replacements or additions in the room décor are consistent with the overall plan and compatible with the existing pieces.  Consequently, our shopping assistance can help ensure adherence to your overall goals for the room and save you valuable time in the process by targeting your acquisitions based on plan-specific components.

Not only can our shopping assistance save you time, we may also be able to save you money!  Cline reDesigns has established accounts with several well-known retailers of home furnishings that offer attractive decorator-only discounts on purchases.  Furthermore, through our affiliation with a longstanding furniture retailer, we periodically attend the High Point International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, North Carolina to meet with various manufacturers of furniture and accessories in order to keep abreast of the industry's latest styles and design changes.  Of course, that up-to-date awareness of current as well as planned furniture and accessories directly benefits you.  We may be able to recommend your consideration of a newly developed design or style ... or even the latest color.

Gift Certificates - Available for all services.  These make great gifts for those "hard to buy for" friends and family.  This is a gift they will enjoy for several years to come. Everyone loves to have a little decorating help!
